THIRD GRADE WINNER
Rosie in the Shelter

She was shaking, chittering
ln the middle of July.
I saw a little scared twinkle
ln her honey green eye.
She slowly crawled
ln the direction of her food.
I knew at once
That she was good.
With her fuzzy gray fur
And her twitchy pink ears,
I could see everything
Was on her list of fears.
I picked her up and
Felt her soft heart beat.
Still chattering
ln the warm July heat.
