Today is National Feral Cat Day®!

Founded in 2001, National Feral Cat Day® was launched to raise awareness about feral or community cats, promote Trap-Neuter-Return, and empower and mobilize the millions of compassionate Americans who care for them.

Feral cats live in the natural landscape and are generally just as healthy as pet cats, but are not socialized to humans, and therefore are usually unadoptable. Instead, we encourage feral cat-lovers to employ the Trap-Neuter-Return approach to manage and care for these free-roaming felines and keep them out of the shelters where too many end up being put to sleep.

Help us help Alley Cat Allies spread the word about National Feral Cat Day®! to help change society and create compassionate communities for cats.

If you help feral cats in your neighborhood, we would love to see photos! Share them on our Facebook page or tag us @PetsAddLife on Twitter or Instagram.
